House of Northern Senses - a wonderful hotel & villa on the lakeside in Ruka for those who value privacy and quality. The villa is located on a large beach plot, in the idyllic village of Virkkula. This cozy and stylishly renovated villa has high-quality accommodation, a spa-style sauna section with a pool and a separate beach sauna. There is accommodation for up to 22 guests in eight bedrooms and extra beds. You can rent either the entire villa for a group or book an individual hotel room. The main building of the villa was built in 1954 and it has been carefully renovated several times; in 2021-2022 the main building was almost completely renovated. The villa has comfortable dining and living areas. The bedrooms are as follows: four atmospheric double rooms with private bathrooms, two more spacious "Superior Double Room" rooms, both with private bathrooms and the possibility of two extra beds per room. The villa also has a large apartment - "Superior-Family Double Room", with two separate bedrooms (one double and one single), a private bathroom and a hallway. There can also be added extra beds for three. All rooms in the villa have TV, WiFi, high-quality bathrobes, slippers, towels and products for washing. The living and dining areas of the villa have Finnish and Scandinavian design furniture, e.g. Alvar Aalto and Artek. There are also two authentic Finnish separate saunas on the lake shore of the villa; a traditional beach sauna and an authentic Finnish smoke sauna. The villa is located near the Oulanka National Park and the popular Karhunkierros hiking trail, the Ruka ski center and the town of Kuusamo. Ruka offers a wide range of activities for vacationers of all ages. Nature tours, sports and adventure hobbies are available. There are also many fun activities for families, such as a visit to a reindeer farm. We make it easy for you to participate in activities and book them for you. We will also be happy to tell you the suggestions that are suitable for your group.
