Villa Huvikumpu is a charming villa built in 2007 on the shore of Lake Keihäsjärvi in Kuru, with accommodation for 16 people. The house exudes the atmosphere of an early 20th-century villa, with its glass verandas, liquorice-tile floors, bathing rooms and gardens adorned with traditional plants. Villa has 229 m² and 9 rooms. Downstairs there is a living room, dining room, kitchen, utility room, toilet, bathroom with bath, TV room and a glass porch overlooking the lake. Upstairs there is a large lobby, 5 bedrooms, a bathroom/WC with a bathtub, and a balcony overlooking the lake. The house has two toilets and two bathrooms: the downstairs bathroom has two showers and a footbath next to the electric sauna.

The beach is child-friendly, shallow and has a sandy bottom. On the beach, there is an atmospheric, wood-fired cabin sauna for 6–8 people, a large jetty and an old-fashioned bathing house, which is used as a changing room. There is a large hot tub in the upper courtyard for the use of both the lakeside sauna and the electric sauna. There is a spacious terrace around the hot tub, from which you can access both saunas without getting your feet dirty. The extra charge for the hot tub is €250 for 2 days and €450 for a week.

The rental price includes final cleaning, but not bed linens (€25/person with bed-making, €15 without bed-making). You can bring your own sheets if you wish. From June to August, we mainly rent for whole weeks from Sunday to Sunday. You can, of course, also ask for a quote for shorter holidays.

There are plenty of outdoor games in the yard (e.g. croquet, mölkky, darts board, beach toys) and a large trampoline with a safety net. There are board games and books indoors for rainy days, and a wonderful German Hansen antique piano with a grand piano sound! There are cosy terraces in the courtyard on the lake side, some of which are covered. You can get from the house to the large jetty via wooden steps and terraces – you can get there without getting your feet dirty, whether you're going for an evening swim or admiring the sunset on the jetty with a coffee mug in your hand. The Lace Glass Porch offers an atmospheric place for dining and cooking. A large gas barbecue (gas included in the price) is available for your use. The glass veranda can accommodate plenty of people around two round tables for dining, and there is more space on the patio in front of the veranda. The kitchen is well equipped: cooking utensils and dishes for 16 people, including an induction hob, a fan oven, a coffee maker, a kettle, a toaster, a waffle iron, a microwave, baking utensils and a large fridge-freezer. Spices, baking paper, etc. can be found in the cupboards.

At the western end of Hevossaari, about 500 metres away, there is a lean-to where you can go at the end of the day to roast a sausage or make coffee on a camp stove – at the same time, you can admire the beautiful lake landscape and the setting sun. It's easy to get to Villa Huvikumpu. The journey from the centre of Tampere takes about 45 minutes by summer train. The grocery stores and pharmacy in the centre of Kuru are about 1.3 km away. Three cars can be parked in the paved front garden of the house. If necessary, you can also park next to the small bridge leading to the island, opposite the beach, or in the turning area at the end of the island. More than ten houses are occupied year-round in Hevossaari – we hope that visitors will enjoy a holiday that is considerate of the local residents. The islanders are really nice and helpful people. Villa Huvikumpu has the honour of serving as a venue for weddings, birthdays, graduation parties, stag and hen parties, family reunions, and corporate meetings and recreation days. There are catering services in the area, and we are happy to help you plan your holiday – both in terms of food services and finding interesting places in the surrounding area. Tampere's Särkänniemi is only a short drive away and offers a fun day out for the whole family. Hikers will be interested in the nearby Seitseminen Nature Park and Helvetinjärvi National Park, with its magnificent Helvetinkolu waterfalls and Haukanhieda beaches. Must-have destination for sunny summer days, and bring your camping gear! There is a rowing boat for fishermen and great mushrooms on the other side of the road in the forest, which is like a grove. Pets are welcome (cleaning fee 30 euros/pet). We ask that pets not go upstairs (is it even possible to prevent this, hardly?) and that blankets be used as covers on the sofas. If there is more cleaning to be done than usual due to pets, we will charge a small additional fee (€50) for the extra work.
